Security & Stewarding

We regularly provide stewards for football and rugby matches. As a result, the majority of our stewards hold qualifications such as NVQ Level 2 in Crowd Control.

In addition, all stewards are trained in customer service, ensuring every visitor enjoys an excellent event experience.

Stewards: The Backbone of Safe and Seamless Events

Stewards manage crowd flow to prevent pinch points, keep emergency routes clear, and balance comfort with capacity. They also handle ticket and bag checks, enforce venue rules, coordinate with security/medical teams, and deliver front-line customer care—directions, accessibility support, and lost property—with calm, clear communication.

Behind the scenes, stewards keep operations tight and responsive—so decisions are fast and the show runs smoothly.

  • Operations: Set out signage/barriers; maintain radio comms and incident logs; feed live updates to control.

  • Incidents & wrap-up: Alert control, provide first response, assist evacuations, keep blue-light routes clear, and join debriefs to turn lessons into improvements.

What We Typically Cover

Crowd management

Proactive density monitoring, lane/queue design, one-way systems where needed, and active prevention of pinch points at gates, bars, toilets and merch. We adjust flows in real time via radio and steward redeployment.

Safety & security

Ticket and wristband validation, proportionate bag checks, rule enforcement, and low-friction conflict de-escalation. We integrate with security/medical teams and maintain clear emergency access routes.

Customer service

Wayfinding and information points, accessibility escorts, support for families and vulnerable guests, and a clear process for lost children/property. Friendly, informed stewards reduce frustration and keep queues moving.

Operations support

Setup of signage, barriers, and cordons; radio discipline and incident logging; regular situation reports to control. We help implement show-stops, capacity holds, and phased reopening when required.

Transport interface

Guidance at car parks, taxi/rideshare zones, and Park & Ride; safe pedestrian routing to transport hubs; coordination with traffic management to balance egress waves and minimise dwell times.

Emergency readiness

Trained first-response actions, evacuation route management, assembly point control, and handovers to blue-light services. We run briefings and spot checks to keep procedures fresh on the day.

Compliance & welfare

Adherence to venue policies, licensing conditions, and safeguarding standards. We monitor steward welfare (breaks, hydration, PPE) to keep performance safe and consistent throughout the event.
